A MIDI keyboard is a simple way to sequence music and plays virtual instruments on your Mac or PC. When you press a key or pad, it creates a MIDI message. The message is sent to the device it's connected to with the use of either a USB or MIDI cable. It works by sending MIDI data (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) to a computer or synthesizer, which then interprets the signal and spits out a sound. So it is not able to produce sound per se, if you want to loop vocals, you would need to do it on a digital audio workstation.
